Bayou Bull Redfish

Experience the music, immerse yourself in the vibrant and lively culture and treat yourself to a taste of New Orleans. Our lodge is a sprawling corner mansion in the Marigny district, with fantastic historic landmarks and locations within walking distance. Each morning, coffee and breakfast will be prepared for you to enjoy before the shuttle ride out to the bayou (40 minutes). Our amazing guides meet us at the dock in Hopedale Marina, ready to take you on the brisk boat ride out to find feeding redfish, black drum, and other thrilling Bayou critters. It’s a hunters game as you cruise the muddy banks, looking for a tailing fish or a cruiser in search of their next meal. Make sure you see the fish before you cast. Throw your fly on their back and all you will see is a cloud of mud as they spook out- but don’t worry There is another willing eater just around the next bend!

Once back at the dock, our shuttles await, stocked with your own beer plus soft drinks and snacks for you to enjoy on your ride back to the city. Back at the lodge you will relax and get cleaned up before apps are up and your expansive family-style dinner is ready for you to enjoy.

End the evening with a stroll through the neighboring historic French Quarter or take in local live music on Frenchman’s St. This experience is the best of both worlds, where city living is paired up with rural bayou fishing. Be forewarned though, mornings come early and the shuttles leave on time…!
