Ben Whalley Fly Fishing

In 2003, Ben moved to Maine where his obsession with wild striped bass was born. By 2015, he began offering guided wading trips part-time for trout and striped bass. He took the plunge and left his job in corporate America in order to pursue his passions as a Captain and guide full-time. And boy, are we glad he did! Enjoy the benefits of this collab while you experience the adventure of chasing stripers on the beautiful, expansive flats of Casco Bay. Learn more about this trip here!

LOS LOCOS,

MAG BAY

Rudy and George are the saltiest, fishiest dudes we know. Their stoke factor is off the charts and we are beyond thrilled to provide hospitality in collaboration with their crew. Supporting and caring for the fishery and the community is their focus, alongside epic fishing and fantastic food. The thrill of catching a striped marlin on a fly rod is truly one of a kind, and needs to be on your fishing bucket list, if it it isn’t already. There is no other way to fish Mag Bay the way it is meant to be fished than the Los Locos and Travel Creel way! For more, head over to our Mag Bay Destination page.

NO NAME LODGE

Matt and Coop are innovators. They met when working at the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust in Miami. During their focus on conservation and habitat restoration, the concept behind “No Name” was born.

Each location starts off the same; unnamed, ready to be explored and uncovered. After fishing and diving into the local culture and customs as well as hosting anglers from all over the world, the decision to cement a location as a ‘No Name’ lodge is made.”

This philosophy fits seamlessly with that of Travel Creel Hospitality. Check out the Puerto Rico Destination page to learn more about our collaboration with “No Name Lodge”.

Hatch Outdoors

Hatch Outdoors makes some of the most badass reels on the market today. Whether we are traveling or just fishing our home waters, we know that we can rely on their products. That is why they are Travel Creels reel of choice! Hatch is a family owned business, based in North County, San Diego, California. We are proud to call them our friends!

Costa Del Mar Sunglasses

Costa Del Mar Sunglasses have been our choice of sunglasses for years. They offer lenses for all light conditions, tons of different styled frames and the folks behind the company happen to be pretty fishy!! We are stoked to be working with them and to find incredible ways to collaborate. in 2023, we had the pleasure of participating in their “Marlin Fly Project”, in Mag Bay with the Los Locos crew! If you have questions about their products or our recommendations for the best pair of sunglasses for your next Creel adventure, drop us a line, check out their website using the link below.

Scott Fly Rod CO.

Scott fly rods are handcrafted in the USA. After a tour of the Scott facility in Montrose, Colorado- it was clear that our brands lined up, to a tee.

“At Scott we focus on designing fishing tools that have a clear purpose… But most of all its about the people. The people who handcraft exceptional fly rods, the people who fish them, and the people who believe there’s a better way to do things.”

Here at Travel Creel, we feel the same about our product. Ask to try out one of these meticulously crafted rods on your next Travel Creel adventure and see for yourself how this collaboration makes perfect sense.

Our friends at Loon are the best in the business when it comes to taking care of fly-anglers needs, from fly tying supplies to nippers and nets. Loon provides us with all the important gadgets we depend on every time we head out fishing. Their products are high quality and designed with care and thought for successful angling. At Travel Creel taking care of anglers needs comes first. We choose who we represent based on similar values and Loon Outdoors embodies exactly that.

Echo Fly Fishing

Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, Echo builds affordable fly rods and reels. Charismatic co-founder Tim Rajeff (the retired competitive caster) set out to design rods at a lower price point that still cast well. At Echo Fly Fishing, they have done exactly that and we always keep a few in our quiver. Whether you are looking to buy a second rod or spend a little less on one to take on more Travel Creel trips, Echo is the right choice.
