Note: There is a large hot tub at the lodge, in case you want to pack accordingly.

Arrival -
Once at the lodge, guests will settle into your rooms, take a tour and settle in. Appetizers will start around 6 pm with dinner to follow.
After dinner, we will go over everything to expect for the week. Fishing partners, guide assignments, weather, fish stories and of course answer questions that the group may have.
The mornings come early so be sure to get some rest!
The Fishing -
Steelhead are what we are after!!
We have an awesome crew of guides that will show us where they might be hiding. Whether we are fishing with indicators or swinging, these guys know how to get it done. The lodge is located within striking distance to some of Oregon's most productive steelhead rivers. Be prepared to fish full days, in pretty much any weather… Bring a good, heavy duty jacket and extra layers in a dry bag!! We have had sunny bluebird days and full on snow storms… Steelhead fishing is not for the faint of heart, but that is why we love it!!
Bobber fishing will be done with a floating line, ideally with an 8wt rod.
Swinging can be done with either a 7wt or an 8wt. You will be fishing out of rafts.. So that means NO STUDS in your wading boots.
Please practice your casting before you get to Oregon!
Being able to cast, mend, stack and feed line when indicator fishing all increase your chances at finding a fish. Being able to push your indicator tight to the bank or into a good seam where the guide wants it is a crucial part to this style of fishing… You are on a team with your guide, if you listen and play your cards right you have a better chance of being rewarded!

- Gear -
Travel Creel always recommends that you bring your own equipment, however the guides are able to provide rods/reels if needed.
Please be sure to let us know prior to the trip so we can communicate your needs to the guide team.
For the Oregon Coast, 8wt rods rigged with floating line are preferred.
Scientific Anglers makes a line called the Anadro taper that is excellent for indicator fishing.
Make sure you have at least 150 yards of backing, attached to the flyline with a good knot!
Guides will be supplying all flies/ terminal tackle.
Be sure to bring a good raincoat, your waders, a dry bag and warm layers!
Over the years we have had all sorts of weather conditions on our trips to the Oregon Coast. Rain, Snow, 80 degree sunny days… Come prepared, we will be fishing rain or shine!

Oregon Fishing License
You will be fishing with us for 4 days.
There are several “daily” options: 1 day, 3 day, 7 day
The most cost-effective way for a “Non-Oregon-Resident” is to purchase a 1 day and a 3 day license for 4 days of fishing.
These daily licenses include the combined angling tag for Oregon, no further license is necessary.
If you choose instead to purchase an annual license you will need to purchase a “combined angling tag”.
All of the licensing is done online or with the Oregon Fish and Wildlife app.
Here is a link to the website: https://odfw.huntfishoregon.com/login
You will need to create an account in order to purchase a license.
Please let us know if you have questions.
Travel Insurance
TCH Highly recommends travel insurance for all your adventures.
