- Fly into Louis Armstrong Intl. Airport (MSY) in New Orleans. Our house is about 20 mins away from the airport. We will setup shuttles or you can take an Uber to the lodge.
- Please try to arrive to the airport between 12-3PM. The closer to 3pm, the better!
- Departure can be any time, the earlier the better.
If you have any questions about flights or getting to New Orleans, please reach out to us.
Please make sure to fill out the travel details form we sent once you have your flights booked.
We will be able to make a few pit stops during the shuttle to stop for booze and any other treats you may want to bring back to the lodge.
PLEASE INFORM US OF ANY FOOD ALLERGIES OR RESTRICTIONS TO ENSURE THE BEST EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE

Arrival -
Once we are at the lodge we will settle into our rooms. Freshen up after a day of travel and dinner will be served around 6PM.
The Fishing -
We will be fishing out of Hopedale, about a 40 minute drive from the lodge. Your guide will be at the dock ready to take you on a brisk boat ride to find feeding Redfish, Black Drum, and other Bayou critters. Its a hunters game as you cruise the muddy banks looking for a tailing fish or a cruiser looking for their next meal. Makes sure you see the fish before you make your cast. Throw your fly on their back and all you will see is a cloud of mud as they spook out. But don’t worry there is another willing eater just around the next bend. Each day you will get to fish with a different guide.
Please practice your casting before you get to New Orleans!
Being able to throw a 9/10wt all day is important to your success on the water.
Being able to hit your target at 40-50 ft+ quickly and accurately will really help make your fishing experience much more enjoyable!

- Gear -
We always suggest you bring your own equipment, However, Guides will provide rods/reels if needed. Flies and terminal tackle are included.
If you need to borrow gear, please be sure to let us know prior to the trip so we can communicate your needs to the team.
9, 10 or 11wt, 9ft rods rigged with floating lines,
SA or Rio Floating Redfish Warm are our favorites
And appropriately sized, sealed drag saltwater reels.
Be sure to inspect that your reels are properly functioning well before your trip!
Make sure you have at least 250 yards of backing, attached to the flyline with a bimini knot.
