Join the Creel Crew for another epic steelhead experience on the Oregon coast. Fly into Portland International Airport and we will shuttle you to the lodge. We take over a multi-home estate, featuring all the amenities and then some, including a private lake stocked with rainbow trout. Our drive in passes over several coastal streams and rivers that will get the excitement building. Your on-site Creel Chef and host will welcome you in with a full spread of local Oregon ingredients. Get your room assignment, settle in, pour a cocktail and take a tour of the expansive property. Ocean run steelhead are found in many rivers in this area. Each day, Jesse Vassar and his team of guides will pick the best spots to fish based on conditions and current river reports. The steelhead game is all about being in the right place at the right time… You are already halfway there just being on the Oregon coast!!

Typical Day in Tillamook:

6:30 am - Wake up, grab a cup of coffee and watch Bald Eagles soar over our private lake from the deck as your Creel Chef gets breakfast rolling and lunch bags packed.

7:30 am - Wader up, grab your lunch bag, load it up with snacks & beverages for the day.

8:00 am - Load up in our shuttles and we are off to meet the guides. Boats typically travel in packs of 2.

4:00 pm - We shuttle you back to the lodge, have a snack and make a cocktail to enjoy while you freshen up and kick back for a few.

5:30 pm - Appetizers are up and cocktails keep (or start) flowing.

6:00 pm - Dinner is served up and enjoyed family style.

7:00 pm - Tie some flies, play a game of pool or turn in for the night.

Your Creel Chef will be highlighting local products in every meal. This area of Oregon has no shortage of supplies available locally. We will be working with our longtime friend Jimmy and his team of butchers at Revel Meats in Canby to source our proteins from local, small farms. We will head up North to grab oysters, clams and other Pacific Ocean treats in Netarts Bay. We venture about while you’re fishing, to make new connections that get us even more excited for our yearly visit to the Pacific Northwest. The sheer abundance of local, quality producers in this region often entices other chef friends of Travel Creel to pop by for a visit and to lend a hand with a meal, or two, or three….!
