We are heading back to Maine, America’s “Vacationland”!
Join the Travel Creel Crew in Southern Maine fishing for striped bass in the beautiful waters around Casco Bay. Our shuttles pick you up at the airport in Portland, ME. First stop is for a roadside lobster roll, then off to the liquor store to load up on libations for the week. Located just minutes outside of Portland is our beautiful lodge, built in the picturesque Northern East Coast Craftsman-style. Relax and settle into your first of many delicious New England inspired dinners prepared by your Creel Crew Chef!
Wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and buttery coffee cake baked with local Maine blueberries. Shuttles load up and head to meet Captain Ben Whalley, our head guide. Captain Ben and his crew will show you the amazing layers of fishing Casco Bay has to offer. From rips & rocks with sinking lines to sight casting on the flats, along with the charming and quaint surroundings- this fishery will capture your heart. Your Creel Chef will pack and send your lunch daily to be enjoyed on the water, just make sure to save room for dinner!
Portland provides our chefs access to world-class local seafood, meat and small, family-owned farm stand produce. As you take our shuttle back to the lodge, we may happen upon one of the plentiful little roadside farm stands to stop off for some goodies for your Creel Chef. If really lucky, the chosen stop may even have a small selection of frozen custard for you to indulge in after your day of chasing striper.

Typical Day in Casco Bay:
4:30 am: Our locally curated breakfast menu is served continental style. Always making the cut: strong coffee and juicy Maine blueberries.
5:45 am: Load up your Chef packed lunch bag with assorted snacks (always out for you) for your day on the boat and wheels are rolling.
6:00 am: Meet head guide Captain Ben Whalley and his crew of captains for sunrise at the boat ramp. Load into your boat and get fishing!
3:00 pm: Reel ‘em up, time to head in. Stop for a quick roadside treat as you are shuttled back to the lodge for some afternoon R&R.
5:00 pm: Appetizers and cocktails will start flowing
5:30 pm: Enjoy the family-style dinner our Creel Chef has prepared.
7:00 pm: Time for a nightcap then take a stroll to the water or turn in… Mornings come fast in Maine when you have stripers on the brain!

Your Creel Crew Chef prepares every meal using locally sourced ingredients. Owner Joshua Schwartz has done all the leg work to set his team up with the area’s best offerings.
Summer in Maine means endless farmers markets and farmstands, loaded with the various bounties New England provides. There is something for everyone to enjoy, all locally produced and harvested.
